Music Supervisor/Rosh T'filah

  • Training and experience commensurate with needs of Music / Songleading activities. Teaching experience in that activity area desired.
  • Ability to teach Jewish concepts to camp community.
  • Strong enthusiasm for and broad-based knowledge of assigned specialty.
  • Ability to creatively plan & schedule programs and activities, and to maximize the skills & talents of staff members.
  • Ability to work well with Visiting Faculty.
  • Knowledge of and ability to lead daily and Shabbat T'filah.
  • Possess creativity and energy, good organizational skills, Jewish literacy and knowledge.
  • Experience with facilitating Music Programming
  • Play a role in all aspects of camp life, actively seeking to bring Judaism to life.


  • Serve as a member of camp’s Supervisor Team
  • Serve as the Eva L. Gunther Head Songleader
  • Shape and elevate the camp's music program.
  • Ensure that Jewish music, and the teaching and participation of musical activities is a vibrant part of the camp culture, from the beginning of the day until the end.
  • Supervise and schedule music staff in the leading of opening breakfast, song sessions, services, and siyum each day.
  • Lead and coordinate activities for all age groups. Maintain daily record of activity lesson plan.
  • Whenever possible, incorporate staff members in program planning and leadership. Prepare requisitions in timely manner. Ensure that all site & supply arrangements are made.
  • Prepare cabin activities to be led by a member of the Music Staff
  • Work with the education director and faculty to plan daily T'filah, including camper led t'filah and experiential t'filah.
  • Work with the music supervisor in coordinating the musical needs for daily and Shabbat T'filah.
  • When available, work as a music specialist teaching music activities and leading daily shira.
  • Coordinate faculty roles in daily T'filah and Shabbat T'filah.
  • Responsible for making sure worship experiences are diverse, inspiring, and age appropriate, and meet the camp’s worship goals.
  • Responsible for seeking out opportunities to include campers and staff in T'filah planning.
  • Play a role in all aspects of camp life, actively seeking to bring Judaism to life.
